Hi, I just recently found bookcrossing, and I was hoping to find someone who lived near me, or maybe a BC group near me. The Lake Texoma area of Texas.
Also, what places are best to leave a wild release if you want it to be caught?

Have you tried looking through the list ot Texas members to see who is near Lake Texoma?

I've personally never found a "best" place. For me, they are simply caught at random. My catch rate is probably about 10%, although I no longer count it because I've done too many.
Thinking about it now, I would presume the best places for a catch would be any place where people sit around with nothing to do and could become bored. :-)

Do you have an IKEA near you? I always get a really good catch rate from there. And it's fun to theme the releases too! I did 3 in our new local one at the beginning of the year - one by a Swedish author on a table in a room set, a dictionary on a desk (caught) and a book on dreams on a bedside table (caught). Must be the combo of boredom and shuffling around the store slowly!
