I thought maybe he had a chance with the last race. I think he talks down to the jockey and the jockey wasn’t into winning for him.

I didn’t expect the horse to win but wouldn’t have been surprised if it did win. This whole section seemed quite long winded and didn’t take the story too far forward in my opinion.

>3 Andrew-theQM: I agree but I think something that transpired at the race may play out in the future of the storyline.

>4 EadieB: Agreed otherwise why spend so long at the races.

I didn't think his horse would win especially after talking to the jockey so insultingly.

I didn't think the jockey had any desire to win for Orkney...but if he wanted to ride again it would be to his advantage to not deliberately throw the race. So the horse had a good chance.

I didn't think he would - Tony had already noticed that the colt was uneven in his growth so I expected him to show well but not win.

>3 Andrew-theQM: I agree, it was hard to pay full attention to as it seemed more like filler than actual information. I'm hoping Eadie is right and there's information here for later.

No. Not everyone has a fairytale ending where sport is concerned. Not many horses can win every race they're entered for. Plus, the jockey didn't have much incentive to win, given the way Orkney talked to him.
