Why do you think the police arrived at Tony's asking questions about the whisky?

I didn't know other than that we'd learned something about that from Jimmy at the party. I couldn't see why they would have come to Tony

In the ambulance, Jimmy had talked about the liquor at Trent's nightclub and the emergency techs had reported it to the police. So, I think they were covering all the bases in case that was related and Tony was sort of an expert.

I think it was the Honorable James d'Alban who was in the ambulance and when he woke up he told the constable that he was talking with Tony in the tent about Larry Trent and his cheating the customers on their alcohol and the constable reported it.

I believe they would question Tony about the whisky because 1.James d'Alban had been speaking to Tony just before the accident. 2. Tony is in the business that he would know about alcohol.

I'm not sure why the police would single out Tony - just because he's a wine merchant doesn't necessarily mean he's also a whisky aficionado.
