Have you read Dick Francis before? Any thoughts?
What do you hope for from this book?

I've read a few Francis books - I quite like them; not necessarily what you'd expect, with him being an ex-jockey.
I'm hoping for a nice change of pace in my reading as recently I've read a lot of Jack Higgin's thrillers on the trot (pun intended) for our Round the World challenge.

>2 Sergeirocks: I like Jack Higgins as well - have quite a few of them sitting on Mt. TBR and should work them into my reading next year.

I have read 1 or 2 Dick Francis in the past. They were solid stories that I enjoyed but nothing thrilling or compelling. I like his writing style too. I'm expecting about the same from this one.

I have never read him before but I do have quite a few of his books.

I read one...not this one. His writing is easy to read but there didn't seem to really be much mystery or suspense about it. More like a cozy without the usual dog, cat and food items.

Apologies but Night decorating school for Christmas ready for the children coming in tomorrow, then snow fallling this afternoon and to finish off hatrick sat for 1 1/2 hours on motorway without moving an inch following an accident so not able to post day two questions tonight. Tomorrow just has to be better! I will catch-up over the weekend.

Proof is one of the few I remember quite well. I think his writing was pretty much at his best with this one. I've read it at least twice. I've got about 2/3 of his books and reread them every decade or so.

I haven't been able to post - getting "duplicate post" errors. Will catch up when I can.

Apologies that the questions for the last section were late, finished book last night but fell asleep before posting the questions. Then a very busy day at school today.

>16 Andrew-theQM: You never owe us apologies. We all know that you have a full time very demanding job. Maybe one day we will be your only job but until that day comes we will be here whenever you are ready.
