Wow, it's been a busy year and I didn't even join this group until recently, much less post. ;-) Life with a two year old is so hectic. :) My daughter has a lot of energy and she used to not sleep at night, but she's finally settling in and letting me get some rest- and reading time. She loves books, so we have read over 100 books together this year.

I don't really have a numerical goal this year, but I wanted to finish reading an Elizabeth Moon series, finish reading my cat themed SFF anthologies, and read at least 7 Sheri S. Tepper books. I have one Moon book left, have finished the cat anthologies, and have 2 Teppers left, so I will be finishing all of my goals, yay! I also added listening to the entire Lord of the Rings Trilogy audiobooks during long car trips to my goals in the middle of the year and we just have the appendices left.

1. The Wizard's Shadow by Susan Dexter
2. The Babytalk Insider's Guide to Your Baby's First Year
3. Still Life by E. E. Horlak (aka Sheri S. Tepper)
4. Bleach, Vol. 9 by Tite Kubo
5. Cats in Space... and Other Places
6. Selfish Love, Vol. 1 by Naduki Koujima
7. The Girlfriends' Guide to Toddlers by Vicki Iovine
8. Marianne, The Magus, and the Manticore by Sheri S. Tepper
9. Catopolis
10. Magicats!
11. The Fellowship of the Ring by J. R. R. Tolkien (audiobook)
12. Marianne, the Madame, and the Momentary Gods by Sheri S. Tepper
13. Once a Hero by Elizabeth Moon
14. Marianne, the Matchbox, and the Malachite Mouse by Sheri S. Tepper
15. Rules of Engagement by Elizabeth Moon
16. The Two Towers by J. R. R. Tolkien (audiobook)
17. Blood Heritage by Sheri S. Tepper
18. Change of Command by Elizabeth Moon
19. Children of the Dust by Catherine Asaro
20. Magicats II
21. The Bronze Skies by Catherine Asaro
22. The Wages of Honor by Catherine Asaro (in Infinite Stars)
23. The Bones by Sheri S. Tepper
24. Against the Odds by Elizabeth Moon
25. The Return of the King by J. R. R. Tolkien (audiobook)

Hello, welcome back! Glad to see you're enjoying your time with your daughter. 2 is such a fun age (3 is even more to look forward to! I'm hoping 4 is even more, as my daughter is 4 in just over 2 weeks!).

Hi! You've done well to read so much with a young child demanding attention! - it's great to read with your child and hopefully that love of books will continue into adulthood :)

Welcome back! That's awesome that you've been reading the whole LOTR trilogy in audio :) Have a great rest of the reading year!

Thank you, everyone. Two is such a fun age because she's learning so much. I think the fact that she sees me reading so much is giving her the awareness that reading is fun. She also associates the library with fun now too because they have toys and books.

My spouse had never read LOTR, although we have seen the movies multiple times, so I was thrilled when we finally got all three audiobooks (still need The Hobbit though). I wasn't sure how much our daughter was listening to the audiobooks, but then she started saying Smeagol, LOL.

>6 Quaisior: Cute. My granddaughter is almost 1,5 and she likes books too. We read a lot together. She is always making me taking her books from the shelve by standing next to the cupboard, raising her arms so I can pick her up and she can choose books. She is very specific saying no or yes to the book I point out.
