I just placed an order for my 6 year old with the SeeSaw book club. I always love it when the book order forms come home because we look at them together. I was tickled to see Owen and Mzee was one of the books offered and it was only $2.95. It wasn't one of my son's first picks, but after I told him what it was about he decided it was one he wanted. I can't wait to read it with him!

We also picked out a couple Halloween themed books and a Yu-Gi-Oh! book.

My 9 year old chose Roald Dahl's The Giraffe, and the Pelly, and Me, which she tells me is a Great Book. Also Princess Academy by Shannon Hale, a new Newbery honor book. And, ahem, a Pirates of the Caribbean book (Island of the Pelegostos). I limited it to those this month, because our school's Scholastic Book Fair (which is really a full-price book sale) is in October. And it's really hard to stop her from wanting books, and me from buying them, if we actually have them in our hands!

I don't think we have a book fair until December. I love going to the book fairs :-)

I'm showing my age here, but does anyone remember when the books were $.25?

Yup, I do! :-) And I remember when they used to give away free posters with book orders. My room used to be plastered with them.

Yesterday we ordered the new Tacky the Penguin book. I've been invited to do a book reading at my son's elementary school and I was having trouble deciding what book to read. When we saw the book order with the new Tacky book I went to find the first one. It's just a blast to read, I'm so glad the book order came in to give me the inspiration!

We also ordered a book with dragon models in it which looks like it will be fun.
