Hi, We're in the process of updating and revising the "Encyclopedia of Queer Myth Symbol and Spirit" as next year will be the 20th anniversary of it's publication! We would be glad to see any suggestions that readers have and willing to post here. Have read feedback over the years including language/terminology concerning trans-people and lack of individual entry citations. The language and understanding of contemporary trans-people have greatly evolved over the last two decades, as have we, and we will be looking at that -- although labeling people of the ancient world with contemporary terminology is problematic. Our queer family now also includes trans-people! We are also restoring the individual entry references that were, much to our objection and chagrin, DELETED by our last (one of too many) pre-publication editors at British publisher Cassell -- since sold to a French corporation. While, encyclopedic dictionaries usually do not have citations, but sometimes authors names (this is the librarian in me talking), we do plan to restore them. Thanks to the god/desses that we have a version of the text before deletion and boxes of paper, yes, paper, index cards with citations also -- an old word document created on one of the first Mac/Apple little box computers! An expanded/updated References List will also be part of the revised edition. We do not have a publisher yet, but remain hopeful. The last attempt ten years ago, that was to include a companion volume of illustrations and original texts referred to in the Encyclopedia, so hoping to make this happen. This will also definitely have an eBook edition and/or web presence. Thanks, DH Sparks, M. Sparks, RP Conner
