I came across this site last monthand thought other LT members might like to know about it.

Basically, you tell it your location and enter tags for the games you're interested in, then you can find other gamers nearby who like the same things. Or you would be able to, if it had more members. It's free.

I haven't checked this out yet but you can also try www.meetup.com. It's got groups for everything you could think of and all across the US (and maybe internationally, I'm not sure).

Have you all ever tried out this site? http://www.gamegalaxxy.com. They have good games here and many of them are hard to find.

I joined a local D&D meetup.com group, even though D&D isn't my favorite RPG. Within a week I got a note from a small group that was playing Call of Cthulhu, and needed a player. It was a great fit, and we've been playing for a few months now.

BoardGameGeek is good for this type of stuff too.

I love the idea of NearbyGamers, I always try to mention it to people I play board games with so it can reach a critical mass.
