A reasonable number of N's, but only two Y's: I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai, which I will probably read at the end of the month for my bookclub meeting on the first Saturday in December, and The Year of Living Biblically by A. J. Jacobs.

Ok, a few options for me:

You Might Be From Saskatchewan If... (hmmm, touchstone isn't working. Have to go back and find instructions on how to make it work!)
Your Water Footprint / Stephen Leahy

3,096 Days / Natascha Kampusch
Shotgun Lovesongs / Nickolas Butler

With that giant NY jumping out at me I can't help wanting to look for something with New York in the title!

The Y is the hardest letter for me every year for some reason. Luckily I do have one lined up Designing Your Life. Planning on reading Gaudy Night for N.

I'm planning on reading Reading Lolita in Tehran by Azar Nafisi for my 'N' read and To Repel Ghosts by Kevin Young for my 'Y' read. There may be more, but we'll see how the month goes!

You Might Be From Saskatchewan If... Volume 2 / Carson Demmans, Jason Sylvestre.

2.5 stars

This is a book of comics that probably should have been funny for someone who grew up in Saskatchewan, but I didn’t laugh. A few of them made me smile, but that was about it. It was ok, but not as good as I had hoped.

A Walking Tour of the Shambles / Neil Gaiman, Gene Wolfe
2 stars

This is a walking tour of a fictional area in Chicago. Unfortunately, I just found it boring. There were a few nice illustrations. Was it meant to be funny? I’m not sure. I just didn’t find it interesting at all.

I hit both letters with Everything I never told you by Celeste Ng but the story was full of despair, racism, and misery. Only two stars from me.

I listened to the audiobook of The Young World -- it wasn't for me 2*.

Finished To Repel Ghosts by Kevin Young--full review written, but I'm afraid I can't recommend this one.

>18 LibraryCin: if you're not "in" on the jokes, they just aren't as funny.

Some years ago I read a book of cartoons about Rhode Island, and some I understood, and laughed, but others were a mystery.

>25 fuzzi: True. I sort of got why they might be funny to some people, but I guess I've been away long enough (both from the province and from small town/rural life, which is what many of the jokes seemed to be related to)... But then, I still think I (at least somewhat) felt differently about things when I lived there. But maybe I'm just not remembering.

We're down to the last 24 hours, and I still have not found a book that meets this challenge...or have I?

I've chosen to start Moon of Three Rings by Andre Norton tonight...

The Bonjour Effect: The Secret Codes of French Conversation Revealed, by Julie Barlow and Jean-Benoit Nadeau.

I only got two done off of my list - my reading has completely been falling apart lately. :-(

>31 cyderry: it's okay, I didn't do any in November.

However, my current read, the one I hoped would be finished and count for November's AlphaKIT, will also fit December's AlphaKIT!
