Should U-U be an "organization" in LT Common Knowledge links?
If so, what should be the format for pre-merger Unitarians or Universalists?

I just added The Country diary of an Edwardian Lady by Edith Holden and was considering adding "Unitarian" on her Common Knowledge.

I don't think so. As a long-time, former UU, I've always considered it very much a religion, not an organization.

After all, you wouldn't put Christianity or Judaism down as an "organization" on an author page and I consider UUism to be the equivalent.

However, at the same time I understand the desire. It seems like there are so few UUs in the public eye that it's tempting to want to proclaim loudly that someone is UU.

Hmm. I think I would only add it (or any other religious affiliation), if the author were more involved in the church than simply being a member. I'm not sure that "Roman Catholic" or "Presbyterian" or "Buddhist" or any other religion should be listed as an "organization" for someone whose connection was no more than identifying with that denomination or attending their services.

However, it would make sense to list "Unitarian" to the CK of someone like J.F. Hayward, a minister and theologian of the church. (Although I see that there are two J.F. Haywards on the author page, so I'm not adding anything other than a disambiguation notice!)

@ DromJohn -- I looked on the The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady by Edith Holden and could not find any "Unitarian" add. If you don't mind, I'll try to add it under CK People/Places.

@ twomoredays -- I share your temptation -- UUs should get far more credit and attention, for important reasons.

I have been experimenting with "Unitarian Universalist" (or each word separately if prior to the union) as a Tag for books.
