Now this is interesting.
And perhaps telling.
About society? About Google?

I think we do have questions raised by Google, a service which in the final analysis desires to raise money rather than work to reduce biases. It has no obligation to be impartial, it only has a an obligation to make a profit.....Why do people believe it should be unbiased? Because corporate entities say they are unbiased...in order to retain customers? or because they have a moral duty to be unbiased, because that is a social good their customers would like to embrace? If you see yourself primarily as a consumer, a trader of time or cash for services, you have no need to be outraged by perceived and actual biases....you get what you pay for...
Which is why I think a society defined by consumption has no moral imperatives, only convenience. If you are looking for knowledge or guidance, a commercial service is the wrong place, as it is only co-incidentally moral or informative.
