I love Baseball & Football so I am quite divided between the 2. Baseball is a game of the mind having to guess where the ball is going to be & trying to get it past 5 people into the outfield & then hope to have time to get to the base. Nine times is this repeated by a team in the hopes of having the lead by the time one gets to the end. As one can imagine, it is quite unpredictable at times unless one plays another team that is not so good.

I love football because I am fascinated to see how everyone manages pressure. For me it is about who is played and why and how people handle pressure.

One note here and that is CTE. CTE or chronic traumatic encephalopathy is serious stuff. If it were not for the Money, the sport would be shut down.

What is it that draws people?

The two teams in this year's final also played the finals last year. The teams feature two players who are among the best ever, completely different styles.

Lebron James has been in the last 6 finals. Not a record but the best in the last several decades.

Stephan Curry is the first unanimous MVP selection. His team started the season with 24 straight wins, an NBA record, and finished with 73 wins. The most ever in a season.

I think the first game of the series, a couple nights ago, was the highest rated game 1 in NBA history. The second game is tonight. (correction the next game is tomorrow night - Sunday.)

There is so much hype and fanfare around all sports but when you put it that way, I understand fully.

Cricket. It's a cross between a sport and a chess game. I can watch one-day matches (both 50 and 20 over versions) and enjoy the excitement, but the real genius of cricket is the five-day variety, a true game of strategy. Currently I'm eagerly awaiting the third test match between England and Sri Lanka which begins next week, although we have already won the series.

In my younger days badminton was the sport I enjoyed playing. It's a lot faster than most people appreciate, which is one of the reasons I no longer play it.

Is it as complicated as it looks? My wife and I have lots to learn re the rules.

Yes, I suppose it is complicated. It's not just the rules, which are complex enough, but I think you probably have to follow it for quite a while (years!) to get a feel for the strategy side of it.

I have never managed to understand the US sports of baseball and American football.

When I lived in the USA for two years a quarter of a century ago many north Americans tried to explain baseball, but it didn't sink in. The nearest I got to any sort of understanding was when a fellow-Briton who had lived in Canada for many years explained it to me, as he was able to use cricket as a contrasting example. But I've long ago forgotten whatever understanding he managed to impart.

Three years ago I did a short sabbatical at Notre Dame, a football college. My wife and I went to watch a pre-season game but, although we enjoyed the spectacle, we didn't really understand anything and we left at half time. I grew up with rugby, but it seems there are only superficial resemblances between the two sports.

We also watched the Superbowl on TV, fortifying ourselves with beer and peanuts in an attempt to immerse ourselves in US culture, but we were amused to discover when we met our US colleagues on Monday morning that most of them hadn't in fact watched it.

American football can be very boring I agree and the many rules and strategies very complex.

Baseball for me is just downright boring.

Personally, sports for me are played by younger kids, high schoolers, and college players.

Football is my favorite sport.

And I truly love the beauty of a football spiraling through the air.

Baseball is great fun to play (softball as well).

In all sports there can be examples of excellence, and in all sports as with all endeavors those examples are there to be appreciated and enjoyed.

And you are completely being while fencing, every second counts, every nano-second....and speed counts more than size, and it is relatively safe...killing very few people (certainly fewer than American and Canadian brands of Football) and has a lesser insurance rate than....curling. I was also an archer for years, a very good exercise for the core muscles in the back and tummy, allowing a lot of thinking when you try to round up your overs and unders...
I seem to be a martial arts sort of person.
I like to watch baseball, a complete declaration that the audience has absolutely nothing better to do...for hours.
