Soto Zen Buddhism
Soto Zen Buddhism is the branch of Zen Buddhism which developed in Japan during the thirteenth century. It's establishment in Japan is attributed to the inspiration and devotion of a spiritual leader named Dogen Zenji(1200-1253). Dogen, who, after studying in China, returned to Japan and established a number of temples. He attracted a large following. His teachings emphasized simplicity, discipline and the practice of zazen or 'sitting meditation.'
The Soto Zen Text Project is an initiative of the International Division of the Administrative Headquarters of Soto Zen Buddhism (Sotoshu Shumucho) that to provide materials for the international study and practice of Soto Zen. The Web-site is hosted by Stanford Univ. and provides English translations of several Japanese Buddhist texts.

For anyone that doesn't know, accesstoinsight.org is also an excellent resource. Its probably the most complete archive of the Tipitaka available in English translation anywhere. It also has listings for requesting free books on Buddhism, other sites with ebooks, and places to buy books online.
