The age of steampunk - Boston Globe article

Thought this was kind of interesting, though I'm honestly not a huge fan of the subgenre..

Personally, I agree with a lot of the sentiment in that article. I think there is a real market to develop for handcrafted technology. Heck, you can find innumerable vendors online selling modified computer components, and the hacking of new technology is a decade(s) old tradition online.

I recently took a gander at Bioshock, a new videogame on the XBox 360 - though its inspiration was Randian objectivism, I got the same vibe I would get from a great steampunk story.

What a fun article - I love the looks of that modified laptop!
