Hey Everyone!

Are you ready to read again in 2015? I know I am! I've gotten a bit of a slow start, but here it is:

.) The Elf Queen of Shannara - Terry Brooks
.) Deaf Again - Mark Drolsbaugh - This is a very interesting autobiographical work by a man who was born as a hearing son to deaf parents and then as a young child began to lose his hearing. He was reared in the mixed environment of his deaf parents, deaf members of his father's family, hearing members of his mother's family, and hearing grandparents and educated in mainstream schools. It is the story of his struggle to assimilate into the hearing world, to "become" hearing and, ultimately, to craft his own identity in the deaf culture.
.) Armageddon's Children - Terry Brooks
.) Elves of Cintra - Terry Brooks

After an extended break from logging (but not reading), here's an update:

.) Foxglove Summer - Ben Aaronovitch (Peter Grant Series, #5)
.) The Secret Sky: A Novel of Forbidden Love in Afghanistan - Atia Abawi - Excellent and very moving!
.) Jake's Orphan - Peggy Brooke - Made me weep and cheer, one after the other.
.) Summer Knight - Jim Butcher (Dresden Files series, #4)
.) Death Masks - Jim Butcher (Dresden Files series, #5)
.) Third Target - Joel Rosenberg - One of my favorites, by one of my favorite authors.
.) The Christmas Train - David Baldacci - This was my first by Baldacci, but I don't believe it will be my last. I quite enjoyed it.
.) Sidney Chambers and the Shadow of Death - James Runcie
.) River Road (Sentinels of New Orleans series, #2) - Suzanne Johnson - I happened upon this series by accident in my local public library. I don't normally like to start a series out of order, but it looked interesting so I thought I'd give it a try. It was worth it. :-)
.) Elysian Fields (Sentinels of New Orleans series, #3) - Suzanne Johnson - So I read on and went for the third installment, since I couldn't get the first volume! Just as good!
.) Turn Coat - Jim Butcher (Dresden Files series, #11)
.) Paddington Goes to Town - Michael Bond - A trip down memory lane!
.) A Life Intercepted - Charles Martin - This is an excellent novel about an all-star football player who is the number one NFL draft pick after college. The narrative opens on the night of the draft when he and his wife greeting the public after he has signed his dream contract. Then it picks up twelve years later as he's getting out of prison....
.) The Cold Dish (a Walt Longmire mystery)- Craig Johnson - I found this recommendation on the list of another LT member. I believe I'm now a Craig Johnson fan.
.) Sidney Chambers and the Perils of the Night - James Runcie
.)The Reluctant Assassin - Eoin Colfer
.)The Hangman's Revolution - Eoin Colfer

>6 drneutron: Hey Jim - what did you think of the Longmire book? Have you finished "Death Without Company" yet? I completed that a couple of weeks ago. Haven't decided yet whether I prefer it over "Cold Dish." I'm getting ready to start "Another Man's Moccasins." I rather like Johnson's writing style.

.) Death Without Company (a Walt Longmire mystery) - Craig Johnson
.) Paddington Marches On - Michael Bond
.) Born to Darkness - Suzanne Brockmann - (Fighting Destiny series, #1) -
.) Royal Street - Suzanne Johnson (Sentinels of New Orleans #1)
.) Night Sky - Suzanne Brockmann -
.) Side Jobs - Jim Butcher (A Dresden Files novel)
.) Do or Die - Suzanne Brockmann - (Reluctant Heroes #1) - The plot in this is a decent one, however I was extremely disappointed by the author's excessive and unnecessary use of Jesus' and God's names as curse words. I'll have to ponder long and hard before I decide whether or not to continue with the rest of the series.
.) Taken - Dee Henderson - Another excellent read.
.) Widow of Larkspur Inn - Lawana Blackwell - (Gresham Chronicles #1) - This was a reread, but one well worth the time.
