The Good Omens website is up and running at http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04knt4h
with lots of goodies to see before the first episode primers tomorrow.

Anyone planning to check it out?
Anyone still here?

I've managed to listen to the first two episodes! It's lots of fun.

I listened to three episodes while cooking dinner (had to clean and chop a lot of leeks) and I am really enjoying it. Excellent performances and seems so far like a fine adaptation. Loved hearing Terry and Neil in their little cameo :)

I have listened to the first 3 episodes & will listen to the rest starting tomorrow! I've read the book a couple of times & would still like to see it as a movie.

I watched the movie of Hogfather which I do every Christmas. Has anyone else seen it?

>8 Vanye: Yes. I do an annual viewing, too :) In fact, that's what I did on Christmas Eve. I don't know why, but this year I finally realized that Susan was played by the same actress as Lady Mary Crawley in Downton Abbey.

Oh! I noticed that in the first season of " Downton Abbey"-she is a very good actress-very good at being cool & aloof!

tardis- I see that you are a Dr. Who fan as I am & I have spent large portions of the past 4 days watching a marathon of Dr. Who on BBC America! I caught several that I had not seen before as well lots that have. I have only caught on to the series in the last 5 years or so. In between watching Dr. Who I have also been watching a marathon of "Myth Busters"! I don't know if you are familiar w/that series-but I have watched it ever since it came on 10 years ago & is a science based series that tests a lot of the stuff that crops up on the internet & other places as well!

>11 Vanye: Yes, love Mythbusters, although I have not watched in a while due to lack of time. When my kids were younger we all watched that, plus Junkyard Wars, too.

Yes; Hogfather is such a fun movie to watch during the holiday season. I alternate between a small selection of movies during Christmas; Hogfather and Tokyo Godfathers. Both really have a solid Christmas spirit to them and are not Home Alone 2.

Ooh - I'll have to look out for the Hogfather film. I haven't read the book yet, though it's been sitting on my bedside table since this time last year.

We watched the Good Omens series during the lockdown here. My husband (who hasn't read the book) was disappointed that there isn't a second series.

Has anybody seen the ads for The Watch on BBC America? I finally saw a longer one and someone said "Welcome to Ankh Morpork", so I realized it was Discworld related.

>15 SF_fan_mae: Everything I've heard about The Watch is that it's really terrible. Haven't seen any of it, though.

I've also only heard negative things about The Watch, unfortunately, I'd been looking forward to this.

Oh. Except for the mention of Ankh-Morpork the trailer didn't seem very Discworld-y.

Hated the first episode. I agree with the bulk of this review and the comments that follow.

The problem for me is less the many changes than it is the inconsistency of all the changes with each other, and with developing a set of engaging characters.

I watched this last year and it is just perfect! David Tenent as Crowley and Michael Sheen as Arizaphale couldn't have been better. All of the actors are great and was really impressed with the kid who plays Adam. Highly recommended
