Questions about this Group

1) Does anyone know the provenance of the image of Lincoln on this group's home page? It looks like a heavily-photoshopped version of the November 9, 1863 Gardner photo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_photographs_of_Abraham_Lincoln#mediaviewer/File:Abraham_Lincoln_O-77_by_Gardner,_1863.jpg).

2) I was surprised that Michael Burlingame's Abraham Lincoln: A Life doesn't show up as a commonly-held work in this group's Zeitgeist. Do Lincoln aficionados find it to be redundant or defective, or possibly both?

1). Not sure.

2). I actually like Burlingame's book. It is highly readable. It is very fact based. I learned a lot from what I have read thus far. So I do not know why it isn't on many other shelves. Maybe it is the price or size? It sure is worth it in my mind though.
