Non-Dystopian Sci-Fi?

The arrival of a couple recent dystopian YA adaptations to movies/tv recently (Divergent and The 100) has me wondering... has The Hunger Games's influence on the YA market been limited to dystopias, or has there been any expansion into other science fictional subgenres?

I find myself yearning for spaceships and alien worlds.

I just finished listening to I am Number Four and have started The Power of Six; they're contemporary and have both aliens and spaceships :)

Marissa Meyer's Lunar Chronicles (Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress) have both spaceships and aliens (well, people who live on the moon). Meyer set fairy tale stories/characters in a futuristic world and they are tons of fun.

Stacey Kade's Project Paper Doll series has aliens, though it's set in our world.

These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman is set on a space liner and later on a non-colonized planet.

Some people have labelled Pierce Brown's Red Rising YA. I wouldn't necessarily agree, but it is a great book that's set on Mars. Of course, it might also be labelled dystopian (I've seen it described as Hunger Games meets Game of Thrones), so maybe it's not the best example. Still, I highly recommend it.

Brian Falkner does YA like this. The Project and the Angel Recon series are examples.

A Confusion of Princes by Garth Nix is non-dystopian sci-fi.

Tin star by Cecil Castellucci seems to be non-dystopian YA SF, according to The Book Smugglers recent review. They've also featured an upcoming release, Mars evacuees by Sophia McDougall which sounds like it fits the bill. I'm keen to check out both these books as soon as I can.

The 5th Wave is about an alien invasion of Earth.

How could I forget about The 5th Wave? I love that book and I've read it several times. If you like audiobooks, I highly recommend this one. I'm picky about my narrators, but whoever hired these two people knew what they were doing.
