Hello Quaisor. Nice to get a reck out of you already. The Changeling Sea sounds very good & like it will fit into the Y/A I want to read this year. Will have to see if my library has it.
Good luck with your challenge.

>5 rainpebble:, Great, I hope you enjoy it. I plan to read a lot of McKillip books this year because I have a huge pile of them and I've enjoyed the other books I've read by her.

I've read some of McKillips books and loved them, but there are not a lot of her books translated. A pity, I think.

>7 connie53:, that's too bad, Connie.

I'll try to post a little bit about how I felt about the books I read this year (but I'm not going to for DNFs because I think it's obvious that I didn't like them since I didn't finish).

The Changeling Sea: McKillip's writing is so beautiful and I enjoyed this story. My only problem is that I wish it had either been a bit longer or that there had been a sequel.

The Further Observations of Lady Whistledown: I liked three of the four stories, which is rare for me with a romance anthology- usually, I only like one or two stories. The Ryan, Quinn, and Hawkins stories were all really sweet and fun.

Michelle Kwan: My Story: Heart of a Champion- Michelle Kwan: A bit too juvenile for me, but still an interesting read. I've been a fan of Kwan since the first time I ever saw her skate.

I love Julia Quinn's books and Lady Whistledown is great!

Wow, it's taken me a while to read some of my longer books so far this year, but I've been weeding out again and have a ton of DNFs. I need the shelf space, so I'm glad I'm getting rid of books.

Joust: I was really disappointed with this, but hope the series gets better.

Winter Rose: I love McKillip's writing style and I enjoyed this, despite finding it a bit confusing.

> 13 and 14, thank you. I just updated my list of books I've read. I haven't had any DNFs lately because I took a break from reading anthologies for a while, but I'm working on a few now. I rarely read a whole anthology unless it's set in a world I like (such as Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar anthologies), so I DNF most anthologies I start.

#15--I have to read anthologies piecemeal, read 2-3 stories, then read a novel, then go back for a 2-3 more, etc. Then I can finish them!

>16 Tess_W:, I've been doing the same thing lately with the anthologies, but some stories just don't work for me. Also, I mostly read women authors and there aren't too many women in the Dozois edited anthologies.

I think I'll probably read about 60 books total and I'm pretty sure I'll read 50 of my own books this year. I only have 10 more to read in three months and I've been reading more than I've been doing anything else lately- although the NHL season is just around the corner. ;-)

I posted my final update. It wasn't a bad year, despite having some health issues that slowed my reading down toward the end of the year. I hope to match or surpass 2014's totals this year.
