I’ve had bad luck with two cover artists to date.

Cover artist #1 said he’d be happy to do it in two months, then wasted more than a year before I finally gave up and cut him loose...14 months later. I never got anything but either radio silence or excuses from him. And I wasn’t constantly pestering him. It was literally months past the original delivery date before I was like, Um, what’s up?

Cover artist #2 is simply radio silence. In early September he said he’d put me on the list “for next week.” I emailed him in early November, and again since then... nothing.

Never in my life have a I had such a hard time giving people money!

Can anyone recommend a responsible, professional cover artist?

There's a thread on GoodReads about this. I don't know whether you have to be a member to read the threads or not, but for what it's worth it's here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/837698-book-cover-artists-illustrators

Update: I worked with Karen Phillips, who was fantastic!

Here's a link to her web site: http://www.phillipscovers.com/
