A fast game is a good game - Crambo's word rhymes with "rapid".

I can think of only one word that's a good rhyme. Is Crambo's word rather jejune?

#2 I'm torn between two words that might fit your suggestion, but neither of them are Crambo's word.

Not: vapid, insipid

Is it just plain __ __, which a crossword

clue might call "Super ego's and

Ego's partner" ?

#4 I'd better not suppress the impulse to tell you've not ID'd Crambo's word!

Not: vapid, insipid, id

I guess I'm not very warm either!

#10 We are still in the middle of this round of Crambo,
#11 You're also not so cold!

Not: vapid, insipid, id, intrepid, amid, tepid

Premolars, perhaps?

#13 Good suggestion - I'd forgotten that variants of teeth might be a potential rhyme.

Not: vapid, insipid, id, intrepid, amid, tepid, cuspid, bicuspid

I have a savoury suggestion by the Crossword King. Just a tasty morsel to keep us going.

#15 All I'm getting is tidbid - which isn't Crambo's word, and I'm not sure it is a word at all!

Ott 28, 2013, 10:35 am

You absolutely may not do that!

#17 OK. But I forbid you to suggest words that don't have a 'p' in them!

Not: vapid, insipid, id, intrepid, amid, tepid, cuspid, bicuspid, tidbid, forbid

"__ __ pid" is said by Webster/Merr-
-iam to rhyme with rapid, so there! - - and with "vapid" too!
Meaning? Oh you would ask
That! Well, "tasty", if my task
Is to find a near syn-
-onym for it; so, tell me, Jim
- - er -- I mean, rodney, have I got
The Crambo! Word, or have I not?

#19 I'm sorry, Roland, I'm tempted, but I'm off my food!

Any of a large and diverse group of naturally occurring organic compounds?

22rodneyvc

#21 Fats a very good suggestion, Jim, but Crambo's word isn't any type of lipid. I'm going to have a little lie down now.

Not: vapid, insipid, id, intrepid, amid, tepid, cuspid, bicuspid, tidbid, forbid, sapid, *lipid

Broadcaster Dizzy Dean used to say "__ __ ud" in lieu

of (possible Crambo! Past Tense):
__ __ __ __. "What do

You WANT me to say?--
'__ __ idded?'
He asked. (They were sure that them he had kidded!)

#23 Crambo's word evokes a bit more elegance than slud, or even slid. More Ps for you Roland!

Not: vapid, insipid, id, intrepid, amid, tepid, cuspid, bicuspid, tidbid, forbid, sapid, *lipid, slid

#35 You are far from an stupid, oldstick. It's just a one syllable rhyme.
#26 You say the nicest things, and flattery might almost have me changing my mind about the Crambo word!

Not: vapid, insipid, id, intrepid, amid, tepid, cuspid, bicuspid, tidbid, forbid, sapid, *lipid, slid, stupid, limpid

I'm a new member who's never played Crambo before so just a warning I might not be quick on the uptake.

So, these two lovers may never have got together if 'he' hadn't intervened.

#28 Welcome on board Heatherfleur - you seem to have picked up the idea fairly quickly. Alas, Crambo isn't playing Cupid!

Not: vapid, insipid, id, intrepid, amid, tepid, cuspid, bicuspid, tidbid, forbid, sapid, *lipid, slid, stupid, limpid, Cupid

#30 As the weather is warming up here in the antipodes, Crambo is having moments of feeling torpid. Curiously, it is a also a type of rowing race in Oxford!

Indeed: torpid

Well done oldstick - over to you.
