Is there anyone in the group willing to have a look at and possibly review my book "The Good Boy: a Memoir", published earlier this year? I'd be very happy to supply a Kindle edition via Amazon to any volunteer. I'm a gay writer but am not sure that the book should be classified 'gay' by the ISBN people, as it was on publication. My target audience was much wider: was I overly ambitious?

Is it only available on Kindle ? I'm old- I only read real books. The 'gay' designation can be limiting tho not as much as once was the caseWhat were your intentions? a book about someone gay but with universal appeal or application?

Hello Chris. The real book, as you so aptly call it, does exist and the paperback is available in bookshops (via Lightning Source) and online via Amazon, Kobo, etc.. I'd be happy to arrange for a paperback version to be sent to you by Amazon if you can provide a postal address and I would be very grateful for your comments and perhaps a review on Amazon? You might prefer to send your address to my personal email rather than to post it on this site: fiennesjohn@gmail.com

You guessed my intention quite accurately: to write about someone gay but in a book which would appeal to a wider audience than just the gay community. I tried to write a book which would encourage ordinary people to understand that being gay, like being left-handed, is not a matter of choice and that society works better when such differences are accepted and when we all help one another in the pursuit of happiness. My handsome younger partner urged me to include a bit of spice along with the philosophy saying that "Sex sells", hence the mixture of sex and religion implied on the cover! JF
