You sure should say that (1),
if youʻre addressing (among others) New Englanders, like me.
(You mean, e.g., "Nina" does NOT rhyme with ʻCleaner"?!!)

;I think one of my Math. text books had a chapter* on
"Maxima# and __ __ __ __ __ __"
# Of course, being a classicist, I know that the i of "maxima"
is short, whereas I assume that the i of "Nina" is long, but we can allow for that in the change to English.
*(somewhere in the part of the book I never got to.)

That textbook was undoubtedly better reading than Adorno's moralizings but Nina's rhyme is something else.

All the acne/freckle cream in the world won't rid me of these spots :-/ What, you laughing at me?

Is roland right about the vowel sound? I assumed Nina was pronounced neena, but please tell me if I am wrong. This isn't a guess, I'm just trying to get used to the new layout!

"I assumed Nina was pronounced neena. . ."
Thatʻs what I assumed, too (that the first syllable rhymes with "see")*;hence my half-baked apology for rhyming it with the short i of minima.
*although I have heard "Nina" with the first syllable rhyming with "tie".
I wouldnʻt think of the
second syllable of "minima"
rhyming with "tie". The
Nina>minima "rhyme" is strictly speaking assonance
not rhyme, because the n>m introduces a different consonant.

#5, Crambo would like to request some additional detail on the nature of the spots -- are they dermal, ocular, imagined, fictional, figurative?
#6, you're correct.

Finding his Russian airport lounge bench quite comfy, Crambo respectfully declines the invitation for now.

Crambo used to dabble in making flutes and has some instructions (untried, mind you) stashed somewhere that concern making a vessel flute out of a toilet float, but even so...

Crambo's word is not a proper name, except secondarily and then of things like British airplanes and cartoon villains, but
Congratulations to Jenni_Canuck—Crambo's word was hyena.

I'm a little busy with some flood issues at the moment so if someone else wants to kick off the new round, please feel free to do so. Otherwise, I should be back to normal (?) by tomorrow.
