Archaeological Sites Being Destroyed in Egypt

The security vacuum now present throughout Egypt following the 18-day uprising against former President Hosni Mubarak has severely threatoned Egypt's historic sites and its ancient cultural legacy. Archaeological sites increasingly continue to be looted, vandalized and outright destroyed.
