The Cove by Ron Rash: another terrific Southern Gothic book from a favorite author
Innocent by Scott Turow: 20-year follow-up to the characters and events of his Presumed Innocent
Make the Break (If You Can) by Reginald J. Exton: a logician's argument against religious beliefs
The Seventh Month by Lisa Gardner: novella following book 5 in her series featuring Boston police detective D. D. Warren
Black Water Rising by Attica Locke: an excellent first book makes me look forward to reading her second, The Cutting Season. I believe both are stand-alone novels.

March 2013:

The Cutting Season by Attica Locke: dreary comedown from her marvelous first novel (see January list)
200% of Nothing : An Eye-Opening Tour through the Twists and Turns of Math Abuse and Innumeracy by A. K. Dewdney: Great fun to read, even for non-math-geeks. And useful, too!
The Malice of Fortune by Michael Ennis -- the female narrator's garbled speech is quite a challenge, but the story is fantastic!
