I was trying to find a word related to Veteran's Day, and having a hard time. All of a sudden peace came to mind. Can you rhyme it?

Back in the day when I owned & watched television, I was addicted to this Sunday evening television series introduced by Alistair Cooke.

Critics and biographers don't say "Son"
To finish off this author's name,
Though an author's son he was; all the same
They say "__ __ __ __", and have done
With it. To pronounce: try "feats"
Without the T, or "Fees"
With final S-, not final Z-sound.
Have we the Crambo word found?

2- I love Masterpiece still. Who's introducing now? Laura Linney? She does a fine job.
3- I have an equal number of nieces and nephews, but 5 (soon to be 6) grandnephews and only one grandniece.
5- Oh dear, Roland, I'm not a classics scholar. I don't know.

Not masterpiece, niece

Do I smell bacon?
Black and white cruises my street
It's the Blue Meanies!

I have to step carefully when walking in the park because the ground is covered in a gazillion green bullet-shaped poops from these critters.

"If you can BUY it, never __ __ __ __ __ it": a saying that is Ever-
Popular. Pre- World War II, "Lend- __ __ __ __ __" became
A controversial issue; so the name
Of this game is to say if Crambo!
would accept "__ __ __ __ __", as its word,you know.

On 5-6:

#5 does evoke "Classics", but not the Greek-
and-Roman kind, except that the former "Gaul"(so to speak)
Produced that author: he was of Sub-
Saharan African/French ancestry, no Cub
Narrator, but a respected pro,
and the son ("__ __ __ __")
Of an even more respected one,
So, even if "__ __ __ __" didnʻt make
It into English dictionaries, take
A moment to consider: it does appear
In Eng.-lang. reviews and criticisms done here.

I've got to stop guessing in these games because when I win it's getting harder and harder to figure out your guesses.
7- Thank you for speaking English, but Crambo is not cease.
8- The Beatles went with both peace and the Blue Meanies but I don't know the guess
9- if you're thinking of bunnies it doesn't quite rhyme
10- I never leased a car and still don't know why one would
11- 5 whatever you're getting at, I'm sure it's not Crambo
12- sounds easy but I don't know it

Not bunnies, cease, lease, masterpiece, niece

Sorry if #8 was too vague... each line contains a slangy reference to the members of a certain public-service profession. Who are the blue meanies who drive black and whites?

15Citizenjoyce
Nov 17, 2012, 5:40 pm

OK, I guess police rhymes with peace - but not Crambo.

Not bunnies, cease, lease, masterpiece, niece, police

17- Well, I know there's tofurkey, is there to-eese too? If not, don't sign me up.
18- Please release me, let me go - we we're just talking about the Flying Elvi the other night. What a coincidence.

Not bunnies, cease, decrease, geese, increase, lease, masterpiece, niece, police, release

Rhymes with #21*, but Iʻm
Not sure it rhymes with "peace"
I think it would be no crime
To suggest the verb "__ __ __ __ __"--which is usually done in fun,
So donʻt get mad if this is not the one.

*i.e. what I THINk 21 is.

21, 22- Not cheese, in fact nothing that rhymes with cheese (sorry to tease you, Roland)
20 see 17. No poultry was harmed in making Crambo

Not bunnies, cease, cheese, decrease, geese, increase, lease, masterpiece, niece, police, release, tease

And getting more obese on Thursday. I read the average Thanksgiving dinner runs 3000 calories. Crambo may or may not overindulge.

This guess, in the "NOTs" already appears
As part of a compound. Don't get it?--Here's
A Pete Seeger rhyme that might
INduce you to get the guess right:

"Listen carefully; here's my thesis:
Peace in the world, or the world in __ __ __ __ __ s."

I didn't realise you could include homophones.

36Citizenjoyce
Nov 25, 2012, 11:22 am

>35 oldstick: You can include homophones, Oldstick, but Crambo is neither a proper noun (33 - Humphries) nor a homophone (34 - piece), though I might use either if I'm in the mood for it.

Not bunnies, cease, cheese, crease, decease, decrease, fleece, geese, grease, Humphries, increase, lease, masterpiece, niece, obese, piece, police, release, tease

Sorry to see that "Humphries"
Is a "Not"; Iʻm trying "__ __ __ __"
AN unabashed name pers-
-onal; we could do worse
Than have a proper name for
The first time on this one; OR
Would it just be "1st time SINCE. . ."?
(Also hinting that Iʻd like hints.)
"__ __ __ __", I almost forgot to edit,
Is an activist, given "credit"
--Or is it "blame"? --as a bad guy
By some on both Left and Right. (Why?)
