Japan ISBN - English translation of information

I am interested in obtaining translated information (title, author, publisher, edition, brief synopsis) on books with a Japan ISBN.

For a Boy Scout Eagle Project, I am apart of a troop which is establishing a library of Japanese books at a community center in southern California. We have received a large collection of books which are from Japan with Japan ISBN's.

I'm in search of a search engine where I can enter the Japan ISBN and receive information on the book in English. For example: # ISBN-10: 4151000186
# ISBN-13: 978-4151000188.

I suggest starting with http://worldcatlibraries.org/isbn/<isbn>. This will give you everything but the synopsis. Click through to one of the libraries listed to get that.

If this comes up empty, don't be afraid to use http://www.amazon.co.jp. You don't really need to understand everything on the page just to find the summary details. Copy and paste these into WWWJDIC or Google Translate. The results will be rough, but all you want is the general idea.

The worldcatlib site looks to have a good basis of information. Then, the synopsis can be taken from amazon.jp and dropped into WWWJDIC for translation. I've also used Babel Fish for the translation process.

There will be many people working on the book cataloging process this weekend. You're ideas will be tried out as the group wades through the boxes of books.
