Alright, I am looking for new manga series to read as the ones I follow come out every couple of months and I need a new fix for the in between. Right now I follow: Hellsing, Berserk, Death Note, Trigun Maximum, No Man's Land, and Reiko the Zombie Shop.

What I'm looking for is anything like Berserk, Hellsing, or Reiko. I'm all for zombies, vampires, and things that go bump in the night! Also, I'm interested in manga series that differentiate from the anime series. An example of this would be Hellsing, Fullmetal Alchemist, or Trigun.

Does Chrono Crusade or Hunter X Hunter manga follow the anime series? I really loved watching Hunter X Hunter.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! =D

Hunter x Hunter is one of my favs also. The anime and manga don't really diverge in plot like Trigun or Full Metal Alchemist. Unfortunately, the story arc after Greed Island is not finished and has been left hanging right before the final showdown for over a year. As far as I know at this point there is no sign of it being finished anytime soon.

You'd probably like Trinity Blood, my friends who really liked Trigun and Hellsing are really into that series as well.

You also might like Blame!. Blame! is more of a cyberpunk title, but as far as the authority and the silicons function in the world they could very well be considered demons, zombies or the like.

I can think of several other vampire titles but they are all pretty much shojo titles so I'm not so sure you'd be interested.

The other creepy crawly titles I know aren't released in the US so they probably won't help you much.

A friend of mine who liked Reiko recommends Mail, by Housui Yamazaki. That manga is also from DarkHorse Publishing.

Chrono Crusade has some similarities with the anime, especially early on, but somewhere around the halfway mark it diverges into an almost entirely different story. If you're looking for two different stories from the anime and manga (that's what I usually like too), then I think you'll be happy with Chrono.

If you're looking for things that go bump in the night, I'd highly recommend Boogiepop doesn't laugh. Creepy stuff, and very good -- and if you like it, there's several other Boogiepop novels as well.

You might also like Princess Resurrection -- the story of a boy who finds he's become the undead servant of a supernatural hunter of creepy-crawlies. Nice sense of humor, too.

ES: Eternal Sabbath isn't about vampires or zombies, but it does have that creepy supernatural thing going for it.

I would've recommended 3x3 Eyes as well, but Dark Horse has said they don't plan to finish the series.

You might like Night of the Beasts. I've read the first two and liked them, but they were a bit to much on the horror side for me (which is why I thought you might like them). I'll probably continue with the series at some point.

I'm new here, but I second Night of the Beasts. I am following it even though it's a bit heavy on the horror for me. I also read Trinity Blood but I wouldn't say it's as heavy on the horror as Night of the Beasts. The Dreaming is a bit more mystery than true horror, but I've only read the first one. Or what about Chevalier D'Eon? Sort of zombies there. I haven't read it but I liked the anime of Descendants of Darkness. Others: Cross and Ghost Hunt.

Not nearly as heavy on the real horror, but more comedy/horror (and maybe some romance, my usual turf!): Bizengast, The Wallflower, Vampire Knight, Chibi Vampire, Vampire Game.

I know all about a fix in between volumes so I hope this helps!
