... and wondering if this group is still alive. I'd like to pursue conversations about things and books Irish. I'm originally from Dublin, but I live in Boston. Have just published a novel, Naked Mommy, which I have offered for review as a Giveaway. I've only begun to post books. I'm reading Paolo Ceolho at the moment, The Witch of Portabello, probably not his best... I'm a John Banville fan, well not all his books, mainly the scientific tetralogy... anyone out there?

I'm still out there. Can't claim to be a big reader of Irish literature, though.

> 1 Yes, this group should be making more noise. Perhaps everyone has stepped out more a breath of fresh air? For my part, I've recently read book four of the Artemis Fowl series, The Opal Deception by Eoin Colfer. I have an Irish category in my book challenge this year and I've barely made a dent.

And here's more noise.
I discovered The City of Bohane this summer. It was written by a young Irish author called, Kevin Barry. (Now there's a name to toy with.) I really liked it.
At the time I wasn't aware that he had won an award (The Rooney Prize for Literature) for his collection of short stories, There are Little Kingdoms. I am currently reading and enjoying this collection.

It does seem very quiet. I've been away, self-pubbing my latest e-book, and seems there's not a lot of Irish action on LT. More across the road. I'm heading to a book launch in Kilkenny Book Centre this Friday by Suzanne Power, non-fiction, life story sort of thing.
