I check my favorite's out from my local library. This is cheaper and I only copy the recipes I really want. Favorites include: Eating Well, Cooking Light

I find I change magazine preferences as the magazine editors change their styles. I used to really like Bon Appetit but lately it has become so full of huge slick photography that I am not really interested. I do like Cucina Italiana.

Although its not just for cooking, I have been a devoted recipient of "Martha Stewart Living" for about six years now and have kept every issue. I loved "Gourmet" before it went defunct. My brother, the engineer, loves "America's Test Kitchen", but I am more of an intuitive cook than a scientist.

I have subscribed to Cooks Illustrated since its beginning even before its 1993 new owner. I find it too simplistic and repetitive but am out voted by both my wife and daughter. Also FineCooking for a lot of years.

My favorite is E.Behr's : Art of Eating" www.artofeating.com/. A great read.

I read the Donna Leon detective novels with great enjoyment but the meals which the family ate sounded mouthwatering and I kept on thinking that there should be a recipe book to compliment the series and then, quite accidentally, I tripped over it.

Venetian recipes with extracts from the books in which the recipes were mentioned. I bought several copies and distributed them among those friends and family whom I thought would be interested.

The book is called A Taste of Venice with culinary stories by Donna Leon and recipes by Roberta Pianaro

I just signed up for two free issues of Clean Eating, after buying a single issue at Whole Foods. Then I ordered their compilation cookbook, and it had the offer for two free issues. I'm hoping to get the first of those soon.
