Hi, I'm a gay man hoping to have a baby with a very good female friend who is straight. We're really struggling to find literature which acknowledges both our sexualities...does anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks

Stephen McCauley's first novel, The Object of My Affection, covered this (if I recall correctly).
In the YA fantasy line (which should be of interest a decade or two in the future) Mercedes Lackey's seminal (ahem) "Last Herald-Mage" trilogy featured Vanyel Ashkevron, a gay man who fathered (but mostly did not parent) four children with friends.
I know there's lots more out there, but on a Sunday morning this is all that's cropping up for me. We're in the converse situation -- we're lesbians who've had a child with a straight male friend -- and there's not much out there for us in the children's section.

Some books about the relationship: A Couple of Friends by Robert Hopcke, Straight Women, Gay Men by Laura Rafaty – but I don't think these address the issue of having children together.
