I'm joining in! I will be listing all books I've read and reviewed here on LT, which is all I've read since April 2008. But I'll only list 1 book for each sub-category (000, 001, etc.)

My library uses the SISO-code system (the European equivalent for Dewey), and while it is similar, it is not the same. So I'll be relying on the Dewey code column in my library and common sense for classification.

My categories are as found on Wikipedia (on April 2, 2011)

2011 goals:

1 book from every 100 category (missing 000, 400)
1 book from every 1xx category (so one book for every 10 sub-categories)

Progress:

Main categories (000, 100, 200, etc): 8/10
Sub-categories (100, 110, 120, etc): 20/99

Just picked up Brotherhood of Kings: How International Relationships Shaped the Ancient Near East by Amanda H. Podany (Dewey code 939). If the rest of the book is as interesting as the introduction, I'll be a very happy camper!

I also bought Knights Templar by Stephen Howarth (Dewey code 271), since it was on sale and the Templars have always held my attention.

Also, due to this challenge, I've rediscovered The Hammer and the Cross: A New History of the Vikings by Robert Ferguson (Dewey code 948), that's been sitting on my shelf for awhile, but I haven't read yet.

Welcome to the challenge! Brotherhood of Kings sounds like something I should read.

Your review of The Archimedes Codex was interesting; I think this may be one of my math books. In my Dewey view, I have 3 books in 510, 2 children's books and a book of math tables. This sounds a lot better than any of those options. Your 3 books in message 13 are of interest, especially the one on the Vikings, and I hope to read your reviews of all 3 in the future.

I'm not a math person at all and I loved The Archimedes Codex, so I'd definitely recommend it as a 510 book.

I'll definitely review the three books mentioned in post 13, but I have a huge, huge, huge TBR stack right now to work through, most of it with a deadline, so I doubt I'll get to them anytime soon.

I just bought Inside Delta Force by Eric Haney, which is listed as 356 Foot forces & warfare. No idea when I'll read it, but I can at least cross that one of the list of 'what am I going to read for that?'

Just read Dinomummy by Phillip Manning, which is listed as 567 Fossil cold-blooded vertebrates. It's officially a children's book, but still a fascinating look behind the scenes of dinosaur research and about one of the greatest finds in recent history!

#17: The military ones are a problem for me as well. I'm not that into straight-up military history, so I don't already have a stash of books for those categories. It's worse in the LOC challenge.

20> The military ones actually aren't such a problem for me, as I like reading about it. But my TBR stack is so high, I have no idea when I'll find the time to read Delta Force.

Read The Atlas of the Prehistoric World by Douglas Palmer, listed as 912 Graphic representations of earth.

Makes me wonder what would be listed as 911 Historical geography...

I'm currently reading Introduction to Ecological Genomics by Nico van Straalen and Dick Roelofs. It's for an exam I have later this week and the two authors are my professors, which makes it all very interesting. The book is fairly readable, for people with enough background in genetics anyway.

It's a 576 book.
