I can't believe this one (Neverwhere) was chosen as Chicago's next One Book to read. It's my favorite Neil Gaiman book. If you haven't read it, it's a fun, good read.

Did you see the events calendar? He and Audrey Niffenegger will be having a discussion at the Harold Washington Library Center, and he will also be doing an event at Rockefeller Chapel. (Guess they're expecting a big turnout!)

No, I didn't, thanks, lilithcat! I've only seen him on film, but he seems quite charming. What an interesting idea to team him up with Audrey Niffenegger! I enjoyed hearing her speak at Printers Row Book Fair.

Thanks for the heads-up on that!

I have heard him read his own work and he is a marvelous speaker and reader of his own work. The Monday night there will be a reading of the stage adaptation of Neverwhere that Lifeline did last year (full disclosure I was dramaturg for that production) but it was well reviewed and might be fun and of interest to some here.

I loved that production of Neverwhere. Very clever and well done adaptation. I was skeptical you all could pull off the battle with the beast, but it was quite magical.
