I already have hundreds of novels at www.medieval-novels.com, which actually covers between 400 and 1600 AD. I include all areas of the world. The site has been up for over 2 1/2 uears.. but I finally got around to hiring someone to create a searchable database for it.. and want to "re-launch" On January 1, 2011.

You would be doing me a huge favor if you went to http://medieval-novels.blogspot.com and making sure books you know about are in the database. That especially goes for authors!

In case you are worrying about assisting my commercial enterprise, I just spent more on the searchable database than I ever have and will from the cents Amazon gives me for referrals.

I hope to get links for more than just Amazon.com, too, by the way.. that's not too far off.

Thanks for your help!

Just at a quick glance you don't have the Owen Archer series by Candace Robb, set in medieval York, or the C. J. Sansom Shardlake series set in Tudor London.

They are there, just lacking an active entry.. I have my husband doing all the mystery series. I think we still have about 500 titles to enter. Feelk free to add some for us! tee hee, I know.. this is my madness not yours.

i happen to be a mad keen fan of Owen Archer, the sexiest detective in medieval mysteries, and there is some steep competition for that honor.

Thanks for taking a peek.

Nan

He is rather sexy isn't he? I'll go through my shelves later and see if I can find anything that's missing.

How do you define 'medieval'? I notice you have only one title by Rosemary Sutcliff, an Elizabethan one. But several of hers take place in the 500-1000 a.d. range, which some would regard as 'early medieval'.

Maybe I didn't look closely enough, but you seem to be missing some of the Kristin Lavransdattar books by Sigrid Undset.

... and how far back do you want to go with regard to authors? for instance I don't see anything by Sir Walter Scott or Maurice Hewlett...

...or books not out in English? For I took a look what you have for Scandinavia and yes, you are missing plenty of stuff.

I didn't see Karen Maitland or Brenda Vantrease in the author index.

Your list doesn't seem to include Romola by George Eliot, a very important Renaissance novel set in Florence c. 1492.

Just added Das Buch der Gifte by Sabrina Capitani, a novel about the life of Christine de Pizan (1364 to 1430), one of the earlist and well-known female writers of Europe.
