Book tastes

Heavily visual books! (As in- image based books with lots of quality prints/photos/illustrations of the particular topic.) Subjects I enjoy: folklore & mythos (creatures/animals/beings/deities), anatomy & physiology (human, animal or otherwise), clothing & costuming, and anything botanical. Oh, also-I would prefer the topics to be on other eras, not contemporary!

Don't get this!

Harlequin romance paperbacks? Although I’d probably still read it tbh

Other notes

A copy of a book you personally love would also be neat!

Secret Santa

sar96: I recommend The Lost Soul

by Olga Tokarczuk, translated by Antonia Lloyd-Jones. It is a picture book for adults with a wonderful story about slowing down. (Dic 3, 2023, 10:13am)

saroz: Gabriel Gale's "The Art of Oz: Witches, Wizards, and Wonders Beyond the Yellow Brick Road" is a very neat, highly visual reinterpretation of the fantasy animals, faeries, dragons, "mechanicals," etc, from the famous book series of the early 1900s. It's designed like a bestiary and has a strong feel of the Victorian, with an emphasis on interpreting the creatures using real-world biology/anatomy. (Nov 26, 2023, 4:25pm)
