I love horror and thrillers. As a child I read Stephen King and Dean Koontz with a little Nancy Drew to mix it up. I also love funny, subversive, ironic fiction. I generally don't care for anything that Oprah has picked, too dry, too literary. That's not to say I like total junk, I have some standards, (won't read Danielle Steele, John Grisham, James Patterson (used to be good but is no longer), Tom Clancy, Michael Crichton). I like zombies, serial killers, the end of the world, and characters who kick ass (Lee Child's Jack Reacher is a god, Repairman Jack, Rachel Morgan and Anita Blake are pretty cool too).

Long term goal is to collect all of Richard Laymon's books in some form or another, partially because it is a challenge, partially because collecting all of Stephen King's works in their various forms is near impossible and would cost a bloody fortune.
Short term goal is to find a few other authors that write good horror or suspense and have a catalogue of books to pick from - new authors are always good, but I am impatient regarding books and when I actually find an author I like, I do not want to wait years to read another book by them.
