Many years ago I realised that you didn't have to read every book you owned before buying more, and since then, the brakes have been off. Moving to a smaller house three years ago forced some ruthless pruning of the collection, but there are still boxes of books in the garage that have never been unpacked. I mainly read fiction, with a particular fondness for crime, as well as modern and classic fiction. I'm also interested in literary criticism, the psychology of music and World war II social history. Although I part with most of my crime novels when I've read them, I am trying to collect the works of Henning Mankell, Sjowall and Wahloo, Alexander McCall Smith and Lindsey Davis. I also like the Persephone books and Virago Modern Classics.
Informazione su di me
I'm a librarian by training - I have been working from home on a web site and am a freelance information specialist (apparently). Married, no children, but we have recently adopted two cats, Lyra and Blizzard, and are well and truly under the paw. As of Spring 2019, we have only Lyra as Blizzard sadly died, and as of December we are a no-cat household as we sadly lost the lovely Lyra.
