Informazioni su di meAnother Shelfari castaway hoping to find similar friends and interests and reading challenges on this new site. I still enjoy reading quite a bit and have found that a) I really enjoy good historical fiction (i.e., no bodice ripping), and b) read more fantasy than true science fiction. But I like both genres and have friends in both worlds. And then there are the biographies and autobiographies that I find on bookshelves and find fascinating.

Originally, I get my general fiction reading mostly through a local book group at our local library. Most of the books I get on loan but a few have found their way to my "i-own" shelf. But since becoming more involved with LibraryThing (albeit on the odd weekend or two per month when I can spend time here), I've found a lot more general fiction to like.

Then there is the call to wander in a locally owned bookstore (yes, there is one nearby!) and just see what happens to fall off the shelf. Or the other used bookstore that has a great selection of science fiction and fantasy from all eras. It's been a great way to add onto my TBR shelves with authors liked by friends on this site.

I currently participate on the SFFKit; it has helped me establish a "To Be Re-Read" list that has resulted in the culling of some books and the addition of new books languishing in bags on the floor. So organization is a good thing.

La mia bibliotecaWell, it's pretty extensive. Reading is one of my favorite past times and is how I unwind at the end of work, or during lunch, or on a weekend when it's just the best thing to do. And my library has grown exponentially with the help and influence of my friends on both Shelfari and Leafmarks. I am open to biographies, historical fiction, fantasy (and some sci-fi) and general fiction though not as much. Classics from time to time, especially if I'm reading them as part of a group.

I have met books I didn't like, and I usually put them down and do my best to give a fair review. And I've found one of the best things for these books is through the site bookcrossing.com, where I can release these books into the wild and track them while they find new homes.

I use the following categories:
