La mia biblioteca: I guess I have about 2000 (not very many) books with cookbooks being the largest part, and Texas cookbooks being the largest part of that. Very few of these books are fiction. After I read a work of fiction, I am almost certain I shall never read it again (with a few exceptions) so I give it away or sell it. Non-fiction works are another story. However, space is a consideration, and I am getting rid of some books (to make room for more!)

My husband has a huge library, but it's mostly put away in boxes (he got tired of having all those bookshelves), so what I have cataloged is only a part of the books we share.
Informazione su di me: I am a 72 year-old retired librarian. My library degree is from UT-Austin, and I spent almost all of my career in a special libraries.

I have maintained my own library computer catalog for some time, but there is much not entered. I am going to switch the whole business to The Library Thing.

I mostly read non-fiction (except Harry Potter). One of my great loves is cookbooks, and others are photography and dogs. Just to give you an idea of how eclectic my reading habits are, right now I am reading some Kant, dog stuff, cookbooks as always, a couple of books about Beaumont TX (my hometown), the pilgrimage to Campostella, etc.

I do not take particularly good care of my books (I read eating, in the bathtub, in the car, etc.), but I do keep them a long, long time. And I take very good care of borrowed books.
