Because I use the public and university libraries in my area, the books in my library are mainly books gleaned from my early college days that remain on my home shelves and my modest classroom library.

I teach English for middle school students in an independent Quaker School in Greensboro, North Carolina. I'm an avid reader, a fanatical cyclist/mountain biker, a sometimes runner, and deplorable fiddler. I'm not such a fan of the Western canonical texts; I prefer contemporary works that lend perspective to the world through diverse lenses.
