My library consists of mostly fiction but as I have gotten older, I've branched off into biography and history. I have a ton of children's books, picture books and young adult literature, which is my favorite genre of literature. Many of my books are used. I pick up books at the Salvation Army or at library book sales. I have purchased many books off of Amazon's marketplace and I also frequent many used book stores. I also have several new books in my collection that I mostly purchased during my undergraduate studies--I mostly buy used now and only purchase new when I can't find a copy of the book I want.

I was an English major in college and now I'm a graduate student in the library science program at the University at Buffalo. I don't read as much as I used to. When I was in college, I read about 5-7 novels a week. When I was in middle school, I read about 7-9 novels a week easy; fun stuff: R.L. Stine, Judy Blume V.C. Andrews, Sidney Sheldon, Danielle Steel, etc. Those were the good old days. I hope to do more reading once I'm out of school. A major problem that I have is that I move all the time. Last time I counted, I changed addresses 10 times in the last 10 years or so. It's really hard to carry all my books with me; I was really upset a few years ago when I had to donate about 10 large Norton Anthologies to the public library because I could not afford to ship them to New York. This is when I lived in Chicago.
