I have almost always been a nut about books. I came in second place in the summer reading contest at my local library after 1st grade. I started buying books at the age of 16, and still have most of those books. 45 years later I have a library of about 3000 books, about 750 of which are from the Folio Society. I have a small fixation on bird books, and have a few first editions of older famous books.

I actually have a bit of a dukedom, a couple of acres with a small house in the woods of the mountains of Colorado, just west of Boulder, in a sort of voluntary exile. I am retired from what seemed a lifetime in the Information Technology field, and now just enjoy the peace of the woods, and my library. My subjects are the birds, mountain lions, bears, foxes, coyotes, deer, elk, moose, chipmunks and squirrels in the neighborhood.
