La mia biblioteca
The first two years starting 2007 most of my entries will be to meet requirements that I will be reading for my new LIS degree at FSU. I have had to put my recreational reading on hold for a time here. I do hope to continue to add personal choice though.
Informazione su di me
Iam the Media Specialist in the Library that serves both high school and adult students. This is my third year.

I am presently teaching Senior English and Intensive Reading at a technology magnet high school in Broward County, Florida. I teach a regular and Honors program within the same classes. I have been teaching most of my career in South Florida. I have three adult children, one of whom was recently married and I have been reading books for children for many years now. My favorite YA authors presently are Avi "The Car" and Cynthia Voight-"The Homecoming" and "Dicey's Song". I especially like their books as they require their characters to attain or display heroism and independence. The literature class I had previously taken in a Master's degree in Reading was referred to as Children's Literature. Up until about eight years ago, I was teaching middle school and loved to interact with my students about their reading. My high school students read a variety from Artemis Fowl, to Harry Potter to New York times Best Sellers to Graphic novels. I have presently organized a trip for all of the students at my school to visit the library and use the computer labs at Nova Southeastern University. This library is a shared facility with the residents of Broward County as 40% of the funding is from the county. The tours will take place in September and October. I belong to a Book club in Broward county called Sankofu. I am enjoying the books written by African American Women authors.
