Non-fiction history is my go to most of the time. I also like a lot of older primary texts, and especially ancient history. Fav book all time is prob Herodotus's Histories, I re-read certain chapters and sections of that one a lot. The landmark edition has cool maps and the margins are really big and I like to write stuff in them. I've been reading a lost of chinese history books recently, and also daoist philosophy. I want to do more chinese philosophy in generaly might try to find a good primary source translation compilation or something. Loved Dao Te Ching, but especially I loved Zhuangzi.

"Once Zhuang Zhou in a dream turned into a butterfly. There was a butterfly joyfully flying about. It followed its whims exactly as it wished and knew not of a Zhou. Suddenly, waking up, there was Zhou, fully there. One does not know of if a Zhou in a dream turned into a butterfly or if a butterfly in a dream turned into a Zhou. There was a Zhou, and there was a butterfly, so there must be a distinction. This is called the transformation of things. " Zhuangzi
