In the 90's my DH and I had an online Used, out of print and Rare bookstore. In the years that I ran the business, I collected children's books . I gravitated towards books published when I was a child in the 50's and 60's . I especially love books by Margaret Wise Brown, and since 1999 until this year had a fan website that was a complete bibliography. I've taken the site down and have begun writing a book version of the bibliography that is more complete than the website as it will assist collectors in identifying true first editions of her work. When I found LibraryThing I was thrilled to begin to move my library databases here. It's a wonderful place to share my collection and knowledge of children's books.

By profession I am a Graphic Designer and Prepress tech at a Letterpress Print shop in Grass Valley, CA. I'm married to a complete bibliophile that had bought and sold 3 5,000+ libraries when I met him in 1984. In our 29+ years together we have amassed a huge library that lives with us- or we live with it- I'm not sure sometimes. I counted the books a few years ago and it was 9,000+. When I retire in a few years it will be my joy to inventory it - If we still have it - the DH is selling again !!!!! Many books come and go, but some become friends and family and they will be with us for a very long time.
