It has been whittled down before, several times, mostly due to the vagueries of charity. This time is the last straw. The few books we keep now are the books that will surround us when the Grim Reeper appears. Hopefully, he, or she, will like some of the titles and be distracted for a few moments more while we collect our wits prior to the Ultimate Romantic Vacation. For that reason, we've decided to keep collecting the works of very phlegmatic writers (John Sayles, William T. Vollmann, Thomas Pynchon) most of whom are still young enough to produce lengthy, interesting volumes to entertain Death while we pack.

Getting old and poor and out of space. Need to rid myself, my wife and our growing cat of numerous books, DVDs and baseball memorabilia so that there will ultimately be room for walkers, canes, oxygen tanks, boxes of legal files, etc.
