A collection on enslavement of over 100 volumes, and for the current project economic history from the colonial to late antebellum period. (The books on agriculture have a lonely existence in an outlying barn.

An independent scholar with a PhD from the University of Virginia, earned in my sixty decade. A prior life as dairy farmer, management consultant, founder of a policy analysis firm, and executive in the U. S. Justice Department. My first history authorship was "Martha Jefferson Randolph: Republican Daughter & Plantation Mistress"--a daughter-father story. My current project has a preliminary title of "'So long as sixty years': Thomas Jefferson's Financial Life."
