I have many research books about fairies, folk-lore, animal-lore, plant-lore, social history - all kinds of subjects that inspire or inform me. Also fiction for enjoyment, particularly Dark Fantasy, Magic, Scandinavian crime, Orange Prize fiction, Modern Fiction - anything well written, a bit weird, off-the-wall or challenging. Love it all...

I'm passionate about books and reading. Born into a home without books, I discovered public libraries at around age 6 and have never looked back. I still work a few hours at my local public library. I'm the author of over 70 books for adults and children and have a number of psuedonyms. Books and reading are my life.
