Michael Wright immersed himself in Iran for a time before and during the revolution where he learned the Persian language. Then he ran off to Saudi Arabia where he toiled in areas other than the Arabic tongue. He’s an amateur linguist, sociologist, and anthropologist.

He lives in Mexico with his partner and their three dogs, and visits his adult children in the U.S. on the way to other continents. Or vice versa.
