At a young age, I read a lot of books from a local library. Very soon my favorite genre became "Science Fiction" and "Fantasy" but I was also interested in stories about old cultures. After I became a member of a bookstore-club (in the Netherlands now known as ECI) at the age of 15, I soon started collecting books. Among the first was "Musasji" from Josjikawa, a great novel with some historical background of Japan. During my highschool years I've collected and read most of the books I have registered here on Librarything. Nowadays, I'm not getting around to reading (any) books, only on rare occasions I'm able to read some chapters of a book. So I'm not collecting as many books as before, actually I only buy books to complete the series I have and on special occasions (like special offers of favorite authors or favorite books I've read from the library).
As for myself, I'm a software engineer (as in writing and maintaining program code) and spend a lot of time working on computers (even at home).

Las al op jonge leeftijd veel boeken uit de Bibliotheek. Het verzamelen van boeken begon nadat ik lid werd van een boekenclub (het huidige eci) met m'n studietijd als hoogtepunt. Tegenwoordig komt er helaas weinig van lezen terecht en het verzamelen beperkt zicht tot het complementeren van series en bij gelegenheid (aanbiedingen van een paar favoriete auteurs).
